Latest Virus Information April 2009 - The Conficker/Downadup/Kiddo Saga Unless you have spent the first three months of 2009 on a deserted island, you haven't been able to escape the Conficker/Downadup/Kiddo media hysteria. F-Secure users have been protected against the A variant since late November 2008 and new variants have been added to the detection DBs on an ongoing basis. If you keep your Microsoft OS and your Anti-Virus software updated, you are not at risk. The best technical information about this virus can be found on the SRI Website A spectacular, but somewhat useless, mashup of infected sites and Google Earth data can be seen here. A more interesting map has been produced by the Conficker Working Group. It should be noted, however, than in the cases of very widespread infections, those maps aren't too interesting because they essentially correspond to a map of ISPs.
